SOS is a community interest company (CIC) limited by guarantee and is a ‘not for profit’ company. This means that we do not operate for private profit. Any profit generated is used to grow and develop our business which is benefiting identified communities or goes directly to benefit those communities and further projects.

SOS was formed to encourage and support activities which benefit the local community and in particular (without limitation) to reinvested into the CIC for further projects and support.

These activities provide benefit to people of all ages, gender, race including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or beliefs and sexual orientation across Cornwall and provide the following benefits.

• List Encourage and provide support for traditional skills required for heritage boat building and restoration.
• List Encourage and provide education, training needs to stay safe in, on and around the water.
• List Encourage and promote a positive impact on mental health and promote the benefits of physical activity.
• List Encourage, support and engage in fundraising for the furtherance of the above aims
